MetroEast Reaches Landmark with CHL 1000
What a fabulous time we had on Wednesday, June 14, as MetroEast celebrated the 1000th episode of our flagship program, Community Hotline. CEO Marty Jones pulled out all the stops to make this an event to remember with delicious hors d’ouevres, drinks, and even a cake featuring the face of Co-Producer/Host Monica Weitzel!
Best of all our special edition of Community Hotline 1000 was shot, for the first time, in front of a live studio audience!

Community Hotline has been a MetroEast staff production for over 20 years. However, it would never happen if it weren’t for the efforts of many volunteers and other staff members led by Co-Producer/Director Emily Vidal.

Guests included many well-known community members along with non-profit leaders and some of Community Hotline’s previous crew. The program covered a little history of the show, some news about it’s spin-off Spanish-language show Nuestra Comunidad, a chat with local non-profits, and the announcement of Community Hotline’s first corporate sponsorship with Gresham Ford.
If you are with a local non-profit, school or government agency doing good in your community and want to share that news, contact Monica Weitzel @ 503 667-8848 ext 335 to see about becoming a Community Hotline guest.
And if you are a socially responsible business in the area wishing to support the good work of these groups, please contact Marty Jones at 503 667-8848 ext 318. We thank Gresham Ford for stepping up as our first corporate sponsor and hope more of you consider following in their generous footsteps.
