Digital overwhelm, or: "How many videos do you really need of your baby?"

When I was about 3 years old, my parents had a friend who was a newspaper photographer.  It was 1983 and he had gotten his hands on one of those early portable VHS recorders where you wear the VHS deck around your shoulder and carry the camera tethered to it.  The quality, of course, was pretty horrifying in comparison with today's technology.

Is Film Media Racist by Design?

An NPR story called "Light And Dark: The Racial Biases That Remain In Photography" was brought to my attention today and it blew my mind.  I have personally noticed that dark-skinned people often don't turn out looking natural in photographs, and I always felt slightly guilty... as a caucasian person am I just doing something wrong?  Am I being insensitive?  Do I not know how to guage black and brown skin tones...
