Are you a DACA recipient?

Are you a DACA recipient? Or know someone who is? If so, please read and share this important letter from Mt. Hood Community College:

Dear MHCC Community,

To continue our commitment in creating a safe and welcoming environment to all of our students, I wanted to share updated information and resources regarding DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program.

Stay Cool This Summer!

Summer 2017 is turning out to be one of the hottest on record for Oregonians. At MetroEast we love our volunteers, community partners and clients and want you to stay healthy. So stay hydrated and keep cool! This is especially important for babies, children, the elderly and infirm. And don't forget about your pets!

Let’s vote!... ¡Vamos a votar!

Last week, we shot several takes for our Spanish public service announcement about the importance of voting. We had many talented volunteers come in and record lines for this video, so be on the lookout for the next rising star! MetroEast all-star producers, Emily Vidal and John Lugton spearheaded this project, which is now in the editing stages.

A Sad Goodbye to MetroEast Volunteer, Russ Waggener

I met Russ when he was my guest on the Community Hotline show in 2013. Russ had been homeless but had recently found housing and had become active in video production with the Bud Clark Commons Television program. His work at BCCTV was original and entertaining and I urged him to become a MetroEast volunteer. He took me up on it and ended up being 2014's Rookie Volunteer of the Year.

Don't Miss Out!

Mark your calendars! August 7 is our 2015 Volunteer Picnic at Red Sunset Park and we're bringing back the GAMES big time! Games, Food and prizes, that's a win-win-win situation! Then on September 19, we're holding our third annual Friends and Family Day at MetroEast Community Media. If you've never been to one, you must mark your calendars.
